YOUNGABOUT
INTERNATIONAL YOUTH AND CINEMA'S FESTIVAL
III EDITION MARCH 8 - 13 , 2010 BOLOGNA
CINEMA ODEON

Youngabout International Festival, promoted by the Cultural Association Gli Anni in Tasca (Years in your pocket) and by the Adolescent Coordination of the San Vitale Neighborhood, is organized by a group of girls and boys between the ages of 16 and 26 years old. It is independent and is not just a film festival, but also an opportunity to come together, with time taken out to visit the city, festive moments with music and…

...much more. Hours of viewings of short films created by the organizers peers living in Italy as well as in other countries, and seven very special feature films, none of which have been distributed in Italy, and most of which will be national premieres, which tell of the love, jealousy, friendship, complexes, fears, solitude, rebellions, and fantasies of people who have not yet wasted their existence on the vain search for power.

This festival is an event born out of the passion for a particular type of cinema that unites quality with a focus on young people’s perspective, a cinema that gets today’s youth involved because it speaks about them, cinema that does not put them on display, but instead tells their stories. Created with limited economic resources, it is a CHALLENGE to carry on with this important cultural commitment in a time of great economic difficulty.

Seminars and workshops will enrich each day of the festival.

Telling of adolescence and the coming of age means dealing with the changes that mark this phase and that bring about the search for new life solutions and new compromises.

Spectators of any age, gifted with imagination and open-mindedness, are invited to participate en masse!
