Prizes “Applauses from the Youth Jury”
Professionals Section
5 Recuerdos
by Oriana Alcaine and Alejandra Márquez, production Enrique Flores
Motivations: The prize for best short film in the professionals section goes to "5 Recuerdos". Starting from the simple everyday event of a forgotten ingredient, the film is able to deal with the universal theme of memory and of the constitutive role which memories have for every man’s identity. "5 Recuerdos" manages to describe all this with interesting metaphors such as “the bag” of memories in which we should all collect our memories in order to be able to find them again, and by means of clear images, bright colors and both original and surprising situations. In short unos: originality, dos: simplicity, tres: spontaneity, cuatro: universality y cinco...?
Schools Section
Eurialo e Niso
by Emanuele Faccilongo. Istituto comprensivo “Mons. Savastio”
Motivations: For the strong communicative power of images and music. The very young age of the actors and the extreme simplicity of the scenes don’t limit the emotional participation at all, but make the short film close to an audience of all ages, leading people to think about themes which are never banal, also drawing from them an all but superfluous smile.
Amateurs Section
Un truc de fou
by Marcello Stefano Becca
Motivations: For the great introspective ability shown, although only using very few words and by means of interesting and innovative techniques. Being the director very young, the message of the film becomes even deeper, short but straightforward and valuable, using little metaphors which leave room for interpretations by the viewer.

Award Plate “Applauses from the Adults Jury”
Amateurs Section
A joke of too much
by Francesco Picone
Motivations: The film plays with all the ingredients of “creepy” cinema. Francesco Picone and the group creating the short film A joke of too much make their game of fictions work, with the lights and shadows of the fuzzy images of a mind-blowing and funny parody. An “academic exercise” made with mastery and irony.
Schools Section
Regno delle Due Italie
a collective work by the triennium classes from Liceo Scientifico Metastasio of Scalea
Motivations: Within a school course on media-education, Regno delle Due Italie, the short film made by one class from Liceo Scientifico Metastasio of Scalea, highlights both the product and the process underlying it: a critical, bitter and authentic work about a condition which forces everyone to think about the “state of things”.
Professionals Section
New London calling
by Alla Kovgan
Motivations: Pure action and movement are the main characters of the short film by Alla Kovgan, who puts the children’s body and games at the center of New London calling. Images chase the children and children chase the images, creating a representation of childhood which is full of esthetic charm and found again vitality.
Special Mention by the Adults Jury
Nei panni degli altri
by the Istituto Comprensivo of Novellara
Motivations: The theme of interculture is the focus of the short film Nei panni degli altri, made in the Istituto Comprensivo of Novellara. An original and “dreamy” way to tell a story, which doesn’t hide reality, but revises it with a light and imaginative narrative pretext. The message is clear and positive, and in the end it finds the looks and gestures of an unexpected normality.
Special Mention by the Youngabout Film Festival
Word wars
by Lorenzo Castiello and Francesco Ruggieri (the prize is a Gift Voucher for COMET)
Motivations: For being willing and able to analyze with no prejudice the diffusion, in Bologna, of tags and graffiti.
